Dutch cities are modelling themselves on the Manhattan skyline

This EditieNL article discusses how Dutch cities are increasingly being compared to Manhattan because of their high-rise projects. Isabel Mosk, city marketer, explains that this trend fits in with current city marketing strategies, which aim to make new developments appear more fashionable. However, she warns that the use of the term “Manhattan” does not always match the identity and wishes of residents. It also emphasises that Dutch high-rise buildings cannot be compared to those in Manhattan, as the tallest building in the Netherlands, the Maastoren, is 165 metres high, while the One World Trade Centre in New York reaches 541 metres.
